Texas AG: Clerks Can Refuse Gay Marriage | 
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced on Sunday county clerks who object to gay marriage can flout the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark ruling to require states to recognize same-sex marriage. Paxton said the top court's decision on Friday does not apply to First Amendment rights to free exercise of religion, which means county clerks can deny performing same-sex wedding ceremonies over their religious objections. Is Russia Pushing for Texas Secession? | 
Surely you haven't forgotten about the Texas Nationalist Movement? Their quest to secede from the United States so far has won little more than sarcastic newspaper headlines, all that was before Texas separatists had the tacit support of the Russian government. This news arrived via Politico, which read some tea leaves/Russian language newspapers and detected an unmistakable pattern of pro-secession rhetoric emanating from the general direction of Moscow. Denton Texas Clerk Refuses to Marry Gays | 
A clerk in Denton County, Texas, is refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, despite the Supreme Court striking down all gay-marriage bans Friday. "It appears this decision now places our great state in a position where state law contradicts federal law," Clerk Juli Luke wrote, adding that she will seek guidance from the local district attorney. The clerk's office has stated they will not issue same-sex license today due to "changes that must be made with our vendor."
