Action! Expose Exxon's destruction and deception to its shareholders on May 25th.

Expose Exxon's destruction and deception to its shareholders on May 25th.

The environmental activism organization, 350.org is sponsoring a public demonstration here in Dallas on Wednesday May 25th at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The occasion is the annual Exxon shareholders meeting. Everyone who is concerned about climate change and public fraud is invited to join us.

It has recently come to public attention that Exxon through its own research has known for decades that fossil fuel extraction, refining, and use causes climate change. They hid their knowledge from shareholders, consumers, and government. Federal and state investigations into this situation are underway. The action here in Dallas this month is to draw public attention and shareholder attention to the destruction, deception, and declining stock value caused by this giant, multi-national corporation.

Here is the link to get the details of the event and to sign up to participate

Dallas Police force incidents database

North Dallas Texas Democratic Women

Thursday April 28, 2016, 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm

Northaven United Methodist Church, 11211 Preston Rd., Dallas   We Are Failing Our ChildrenScandal ! Lawsuits !

And it just keeps getting worse for the children of Texas!

NDTDW will present a panel of experts to discuss the Texas Foster Care System and Child Protective Services at our April 28th meeting. Be sure to plan to come to this timely and important meeting.

Confirmed on our panel:Madeline McClure, LCSW Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TexProtects, The Texas Association for the Protection of Children. After a successful career as a financier on Wall Street, TexProtects founder and Executive Director Madeline McClure turned her problem solving skills to the issue of child abuse and recovery. She earned her Master's Degree in Social Work and practiced six years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing therapy to child victims. It became clear to her that healing one child, one neighborhood, one community at a time - while necessary - was an insufficient response in proportion to the child abuse epidemic. Madeline shifted her energies to working on a macro scale for greatest impact, leading others for over 10 years in successful child advocacy. She has a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers College, Rutgers University. Darlene Ewing, Putting children and families first, 35-year family lawyer Darlene Ewing is now a candidate for the 254th Family District Court.

Texas Fights To Secede From The United Damn States Of America

As you have heard by now, Texas Republicans want to vote on a resolution at their convention in June that says Texas ought to bygawd secede from the United Damn States of America.

I am here to tell you that the Republican National convention is gonna be hotter than a hoochy-koochy dancer on Saturday night in a Del Rio. You should be able to fry bacon on the heads of three-fourths of the delegates.

My position is that we ought to let them secede ... and move to Utah and start themselves another of those church things. You know, where they intermarry and never get elected President.  http://is.gd/2lSk8z

Texas Organizing Project goes to DC on Immigration

Texas families from Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio made the long trek to be in front of the U.S. Supreme Court today when justices heard arguments on Gov. Greg Abbott's lawsuit that is keeping more than 700,000 undocumented Texans from temporary relief of deportation. TOP members joined thousands of immigrant families from across the country to rally in front of the Supreme Court, because it's vital that Texans be there to show the country that Texas families need and deserve relief from deportation, work permits and driver's licenses. Your donations and support made this trip possible, and we remain confident that the Supreme Court will rule in our favor! For more information, contact Constance Luo, (832) 494-8406, cluo@organizetexas.org .

The 8 A.M. Call
by Paul Krugman

Back in 2008, one of the ads Hillary Clinton ran during the contest for the Democratic nomination featured an imaginary scene in which the White House phone rings at 3 a.m. with news of a foreign crisis, and asked, "Who do you want answering that phone?" It was a fairly mild jab at Barack Obama's lack of foreign policy experience.

Samantha Bee Has Proved Why Late Night Needed Full Frontal

Most of the conversation before Full Frontal premiered was about how exciting it was that we were finally going to have a woman hosting a late-night show. It was a fair thing to focus on, as it was a clearly bullshit situation that needed to be remedied. But lost in this conversation was how exciting it was that the woman hosting the show was going to be Samantha Bee in particular. This focus on her as a woman entering a boys' club over her own specific comedy track record is something Bee herself noted and mocked in the show's first episode
