Could Texas Be Turning Blue? |
Hillary Clinton joined Twitter this week and set in motion speculation about her possibly running for President in 2016 - and further fueled the possibility that Texas might just be ready to go blue.
Could Texas, where Democrats did not exactly go out of their way to gain any of the state's 38 electoral votes in 2012, be truly poised to be a battleground state?

| 350.org and Texas Drought Project asks you to : Sign the Keystone XL Pledge of Resistance |
The State Department's release of its Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement in March was one of those days that remind us of just how steep a hill to climb this fight against climate change is. Even with a president who recently professed a lofty goal of getting all cars off of oil, even with one of our stronger climate hawk senators as the new secretary of state, the State Department still released a joke of an environmental assessment of the Keystone XL pipeline, taking us one big step closer to approval of this project that should be a no-brainer of a rejection. | Fight the Future By PAUL KRUGMAN | Fight the Future By PAUL KRUGMAN Last week the International Monetary Fund, whose normal role is that of stern disciplinarian to spendthrift governments, gave the United States some unusual advice. "Lighten up," urged the fund. "Enjoy life! Seize the day!" O.K., fund officials didn't use quite those words, but they came close, with an article in IMF Survey magazine titled "Ease Off Spending Cuts to Boost U.S. Recovery." In its more formal statement, the fund argued that the sequester and other forms of fiscal contraction will cut this year's U.S. growth rate by almost half, undermining what might otherwise have been a fairly vigorous recovery. And these spending cuts are both unwise and unnecessary. . READ ON | |
