Retirees Calling!

Activists with the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans called hundreds of retirees during the previous week. They are encouraged everyone to oppose ALEC on July 30th. They are also trying to help coordinate travel from other areas. The Tarrant County Central Labor Council is organizing a bus. They are asking people to sign up to arrive at UAW 218, 98 W Hurst Blvd in Hurst, before 10AM on July 30. They expect to be back in Hurst before 3 PM. There are efforts to organize transportation in the Austin and Houston areas as well.

On-line mobilizing is strong. Retirees are posting two good videos on ALEC. The short one is at http://youtu.be/azSUHpAb_E4 and a longer one is at http://watch.montanapbs.org/video/2365254181/. The official Facebook page is at https://www.facebook.com/unwelcomeALECdallas
