ALEC in Dallas! The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is coming to Dallas from July 30th to August 1st. | The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is coming to Dallas from July 30th to August 1st. ALEC wines and dines state politicians and corporate lobbyists behind closed doors where they work together to rewrite our laws without any public input. It's time we send a message to these out-of-touch politicians that they are supposed to work for us, not out-of-state companies. These industry-backed laws help privatize our schools, make it more difficult to vote and expand tax cuts for the rich, just to name a few. The laws are written by lobbyists, passed often without any changes made and benefit corporations at the expense of you and me. Let's send a message to ALEC that we will not let Texas be assaulted! July 26th: Movie Screening, Workshops, Teach-in at the CWA Union Hall, 1408 N Washington Ave, Dallas July 30: Protest, Rally, Panel Discussion at Community Brewery, 1530 Inspiration Dr., Dallas, TX 75207. Events will start before noon. More news soon!
