March Against Monsanto makes an encore in Dallas | 
Great turnout at Monsanto rally! More than a hundred people came out to raise public awareness about GMOs at the March Against Monsanto in Dallas on Saturday. This was the second march held in North Texas to protest the agricultural giant, the world's biggest producer of genetically engineered seeds. Marches were held in Dallas and Fort Worth in May. Saturday's protest coincided with marches in 400 cities around the world, according to the March Against Monsanto website. read on |

Texas food banks feel shutdown squeeze | 
Ten truckload deliveries of food were already canceled. An additional 36 loads remain "in limbo" for the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas, which provides nearly 175,000 meals a day to the region's needy.

Cancel your plans tonight. You're drunk dialing Congress. No, really. A new website called Drunk Dial Congress prompts you to enter in your phone number, and then it connects you to a random member of Congress. "Mad at Congress over the shutdown? Have a drink and tell them," the website advertises. There's no testing of your blood-alcohol content, but your comments are probably better while drunk. So start making your list of gripes right now and also maybe start the party a little early today (nobody will judge you for day drinking if it's to end the government shutdown).
