Yes, this week!!! | Subject: Cloture! Early this morning, the Senate voted 60-40 to move forward with health care reform legislation. Thank you to everyone who helped phonebank over the last few weeks, and especially Sunday, to make sure this happened. Over the next few days, there will be four more votes on the bill under Senate rules, with the final vote on the legislation scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET) on Christmas Eve. Today's vote was the hardest. But we're not going to take anything for granted. We'll be having phonebanks Monday and Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at Dallas County Democratic Party HQ (4209 Parry) and Tarrant County Democratic Party HQ (3004 W.Lancaster) to make sure key Senators are getting thank you calls from their constituents. Join us if you can. Again, thank you. What happened today was an historic step in passing a bill that will provide real and substantial benefits to millions of real Americans. And it happened because of people like you.
